E3 Logo

The game has officially been stepped up by Bethesda and their presentation affectionately known as #BE3

After a year of lackluster E3 presentations,  This year’s conference started out with a BANG. Bethesda got us gamers all hot and bothered by the majority of their presentation.

TLDR: BE3 gets a 9/10.

The Games:

DOOM

Awaited and already announced this was not the big reveal that some expected but it was a really solid presentation and the passion for the project was conveyed.

+:    Instakills – player can enter kill animation after staggering opponent with damage animations will be determined based on the area of the body that the player is looking at when they activate the kill move, Fast paced is fast! Insta-kills, Shotguns and Chainsaws feel visceral and satisfying. All the carnage you expect from a DOOM game. Snap Map feature allows for player created maps and multiplayer modes

-: not much revealed in terms of Multi player, or storyline accept at some point you will go to Hell.

+: Unique look, 3rd person team multiplayer with a heavy Melee combat  focus,  That shield Tho…(hashtag it)

-:Probably going to get washed out in the wake of the other Team fortress-esque 3rd person (and FPS) team multiplayer games this year (*cough *cough Overwatch).

Dishonored 2

+:Officially unveiled, Looked Pretty, real pretty. 2 different main characters so unique play styles and obvious replayability.

-:no gameplay revealed just a cinematic trailer but game has some time before we should be expectant of that

The Elder Scrolls Online

+:ESO is now available on PS4and  Xbox One. Brand new Elder Scrolls Legacy card game for PC and iPad

-: Hearthstone.

Fallout 4

+:Play as male or female, main character is now fully voiced, see the world pre-fallout, Stunning graphics and lighting, new play modes, use in game junk to build custom shelter and community. JUST ALL THE THINGS! and a gimmicky ass but ridiculously awesome collectors edition Pip Boy that works with your smartphone….  (for other details click here.)

-: It isn’t out yet…seriously this was the show stopper

Extra Credit:

Bethesda Net.  No not Battle.net, this is the place where all community content is made available for all Bethesda titles! AND releasing a Fallout App right after their presentation.

*Drops Mic

Releasing and Announcing Fallout Shelter App…

So, all in all Bethesda nailed it, they had no major malfunctions, they kept the focus on the biggest games, putting their best foot forward.  They got the audience and gamers excited about what they have in store for us and that is the most important part of this conference (a lesson learned the hard way by the X Box one failed marketing strategy).

Final thought:

Good Job Bethesda

So what did you think? Did Bethesda nail it? Who will out do Fallout4 in the days to come?
